Citadelle, Place of Contemplation and Remembrance
Religious and Spiritual Tourism
Religion and the military have always worked in tandem. This coexistence exists in the Royal 22e Régiment and its motherhouse, the Citadelle of Québec. The presence of chaplains since the Régiment’s creation in 1914, of a Chapel within the fortress and the Memorial where General Vanier eternally rests, attest to the spiritual and memorial connections between religious and military heritage.
Pilgrims, spiritual persons and those interested in history will discover these symbolic places, usually reserved for members of the Régiment, and will learn about the sacred, religious and historical aspects of the Citadelle of Québec.
